Keeping on with the heart theme

Although this card has a much more serious meaning.  Looking back at my older work, I've made something very similar to this.  This is a 5x7 sympathy card.  I embossed the black panel on my scoring board.  The heart dies are old from stampin up.  The sentiment is heat embossed .  I think this makes a very beautiful and heartfelt card and could easily be switched up for different occasions.

Pinterest inspired anniversary Card

As I said in my last post, I love a good heart motif. I also really like birds, butterflies, and leaves, but I digress, this card is my rendition of this card. The design is the same, but I have changed the size, supplies, and colors.

CASE-ing a card

I made this card as an anniversary card and in my fashion, turned it into a 5x7 card.  I made changes based on the supplies I have and fussy cutting all those heart...eek.  I copied this design (to a degree) of Nina-Marie Trapani on youtube.  She was using a new Tim Holtz release.  She also used ink blending.  Like I said, I tweaked the card to suit what I had, but if there is a heart or butterfly involved...I am here for it.  I was watching a cardmaking class recently and the instructor said she has to buy anything with butterflies.  I feel that way about hearts and butterflies, but alas, I do not have the funds to buy all the things.  Anyway, this is my card.  I used a brush stroke stamp set, and a heart stamp set that is very old from stampin' up .

A special thank you card for a special friend

When a bookshelf shows up on your porch and you don't know where it came from, but your name is on it...you start to really wonder...hmmm, who knew we needed that??? A couple days after the delivery it was revealed to us who the gifter was.  My heart is full.  This is the card I made to thank her for her kind generosity.

Butterfly Note cards

I have learned through my cardmaking journey that I really enjoy stamping.  My stamp collection is very limited and I have a lot more die cutting ability, so my card making often revolves around die cutting.  A sweet friend from church likes to get card sets from me and this is the latest set I gifted her.  I love butterflies and this is a layering set from photoplay that I got from Scrapbook.com some time ago.  The papers are from an old echo park faith paper pad I got a Tuesday Mornings many years ago.  These little square cards turned out adorable.  I used Scrapbook.com ink pads and the white die cuts are from a pinkfresh studio die set I purchased from Scrapbook.com.  The finished size is 4.24 x 4.25

Christmas in February (set 3)

Here are my personal Christmas cards from the month of February.  I'm really proud and really striving to keep up with this goal.  Six cards in total.  Gingerbread dies, and papers are from Scrapbook.com and the sentiment stamps are from my stash, a set from the stamps of life.  I also used some hearts and a present to "look" like gingerbread cookies from my stash.  There's a little bit of everything in these cards. All of these cards are A6 in size.

My son's BFF

My 10 year old son has a friend with a birthday in February.  Ezekiel asked me to make a Marvel themed birthday card.  My mind immediately went to color theme.  I googled Marvel colors and then went from the there.  The super man die cut is from cricut DS and the stamp set is something I had in my stash.  I really liked how the card turned out and I especially love personalizing cards.

A new tradition

It has been my desire to create thank you cards for my Christmas gifts for the last few years, but I never seem to find time to make cards for my own giving in the season I'm in.  This year I was determined.  I'm still behind, but I think gratitude is good for anytime no matter if it is considered untimely.  Right?  Here is the start of some of my thank you cards.  I used a set of stamps, dies and paper pads from Scrapbook.com.

In honor of February being my birthday month

I'm sharing a beautiful birthday card I made for a friend for her to gift to a friend.  I know both these ladies well and I get special joy in creating for people I love.  I used one of my favorite craft consortium paper pads and my spellbinders nested arches dies.  I also used greenery dies from scrapbook.com as well as my FAVORTIE dollar tree butterfly stickers. I used an embossing folder from spellbinders for the background and made this into a shaker card which is also a favorite style for me.  The birthday die cuts are from spellbinders and the sub sentiment is a paper rose premade sentiment I cut up to finish the sentiment. The flat back, faceted gems came from Hobby Lobby and finished out the card nicely.

2for1

I got this idea from the amazing Natasha Foote on youtube.  She shared a card that when creating you actually have the pieces to create a 2for1.  As in, you cut once but can make two cards.  Using what I had on hand, I used this older mandala die I got at Spellbinders eons ago.  It really makes a striking card.  I made square cards and I love how they turned out.

Christmas in January set 2

So this is the card set I created to continue my goal of having handmade Christmas cards to send out this year.  I used a background stamp from my stash, I'm not sure the brand, but it's red rubber and makes a great impression.  The Joy die and snowman die were both freebies I received with and order from Scrapbook.com.  I only got four finished, but since I made 9 in december, I'm ahead of schedule!

I wanted to look as if he is juggling.  Not sure I accomplished that, but I think they turned out cute.  Fun fact, I decorate my house in snowmen at Christmas.

And I'm back again...Christmas in December?

It is my goal this year to make 5 Christmas cards per month, so that by October I will be able to send out my own handmade Christmas cards. So far, I'm on track.  This idea came to me as I was falling asleep in bed one night.  They came together quickly and is a very clean and simple design(not my forte).  I do love the end result and was able to bust out 9 as it was so very easy.

A little ink blending with distress oxide, a die cut edge and stamping the sentiment.  Voila. The die is from Paper Rose Studio.  Stamp is from thestampsoflife.com The sentiment comes from a set at Scrapbook.com
