The moment I saw these flowers...

I knew I wanted them.  I just fell in love with the design and size.  I think I may have mentioned that I make a lot of thank you cards.  This falls into the category.  Since my husband had surprise open heart surgery in March, I have a long list of people I need to thank for their love, support, and generosity.  I don't think I'm quite half through my list, but after wiping out my card stash, I made this card to go out to someone on the list.  I pray and kind of wait for the Lord to direct me to the right person.  A lot of times, He has already spoken it my spirit while I'm in the process.

There are SOOO many things I love about this card.  I love the arched details I made using my arched dies from Spellbinders.  The flowers are a set from Simon Hurley and Spellbinders.  The papers are from my stash.  The sentiment is from a gratitude stamp set I got from scrapbook.com. I embellished with white pops of colors.  (if you like nuvo drops, check out pops of color from scrapbook.com, they have quickly become my goto, such a great product.)

Personalized Card

I love to add personal  touches to a card.  I think it just makes it a little more special.  I had the opportunity to make a card for someone I also happen to know.  I took some time studying photos of her pets and incorporated them into her card.  I love how it turned out.  So fun.  She really enjoyed the card and that makes me so happy!!

I will never tire of making these butterfly cards

You know I love my butterfly dies.  I had a request for a beach themed birthday card.  I went straight to my butterfly dies and decided to build a scene.  There are so many things I did to make the scene come to life.  I inked the name in the sand to give it some attention.  I used a snow pen to create the surf on the beach.  (is that the right word?) I heat embossed happy birthday in the water to give it a "wet" appearance.  I was really pleased with the outcome.  I like a good scene and to top it off I got to use my butterflies too!

When your words come back to bite you

I made this beautiful sympathy card for my Mom to have on hand in her card stash.  The flower is a Tim Holtz color layering set.  I got it at Hobby Lobby, several months ago, at a deep discount.  When I pulled out the die set, I was astounded at the number of dies there were to create the composition.  It was a time-consuming process.  As I showed my Mom the card and described it, the first words out of my mouth were, see this card, this one here will not be a repeat. There were so many teeny pieces it took me forever to assemble.  Well, don't you know, my Mom sent that card to a friend of mine who suffered a recent loss.  She reached out to me and asked me for 4 of those same cards....I just have to giggle.  I guess the Lord is building my patience/tolerance level and maybe teaching me to never say never...LOL.  I will joyfully make my friend those 4 cards and be glad in it!

I love to make cards for kids

A friend of mine reached out to me for a birthday card for her little granddaughter.  The theme of the party was mermaids.  This particular friend will also send me a party invitation so I can kind of match the theme.  I also enjoy making the cards interactive because I want the child to love the card until it dies...LOL if you get my drift.  This card turned out so stinking cute.  I used an old Spellbinders card kit ephemera  for most of the sea pieces.  I cut some of the sea weed with dies and the mermaid is a die set that came in the same kit.  When I make a kids card, I like to add glitter, dimension, and like I said interaction.  This card, when pulled on the sides, the "swimming" creatures move back and forth.  The background papers are from a paper pad I purchased at Hobby Lobby many years ago.  Everything came together so nicely for this card.
