In honor of February being my birthday month

I'm sharing a beautiful birthday card I made for a friend for her to gift to a friend.  I know both these ladies well and I get special joy in creating for people I love.  I used one of my favorite craft consortium paper pads and my spellbinders nested arches dies.  I also used greenery dies from scrapbook.com as well as my FAVORTIE dollar tree butterfly stickers. I used an embossing folder from spellbinders for the background and made this into a shaker card which is also a favorite style for me.  The birthday die cuts are from spellbinders and the sub sentiment is a paper rose premade sentiment I cut up to finish the sentiment. The flat back, faceted gems came from Hobby Lobby and finished out the card nicely.

2for1

I got this idea from the amazing Natasha Foote on youtube.  She shared a card that when creating you actually have the pieces to create a 2for1.  As in, you cut once but can make two cards.  Using what I had on hand, I used this older mandala die I got at Spellbinders eons ago.  It really makes a striking card.  I made square cards and I love how they turned out.

Christmas in January set 2

So this is the card set I created to continue my goal of having handmade Christmas cards to send out this year.  I used a background stamp from my stash, I'm not sure the brand, but it's red rubber and makes a great impression.  The Joy die and snowman die were both freebies I received with and order from Scrapbook.com.  I only got four finished, but since I made 9 in december, I'm ahead of schedule!

I wanted to look as if he is juggling.  Not sure I accomplished that, but I think they turned out cute.  Fun fact, I decorate my house in snowmen at Christmas.

And I'm back again...Christmas in December?

It is my goal this year to make 5 Christmas cards per month, so that by October I will be able to send out my own handmade Christmas cards. So far, I'm on track.  This idea came to me as I was falling asleep in bed one night.  They came together quickly and is a very clean and simple design(not my forte).  I do love the end result and was able to bust out 9 as it was so very easy.

A little ink blending with distress oxide, a die cut edge and stamping the sentiment.  Voila. The die is from Paper Rose Studio.  Stamp is from thestampsoflife.com The sentiment comes from a set at Scrapbook.com
